Varsity vs Fruitport High School (35 - 48) Loss The WMC boys' basketball team took to the court Tuesday night against the Fruitport Trojans and lost 48-35. WMC ended the1st quarter with an 11-6, led by Gavriel Modderman with 4 points and Seth Moorhead with 3 points respectively. WMC struggled in the 2nd quarter scoring only 2 points and were down at halftime 17-13. Fruitport scored 31 second half points to pull away to win the game by 13 points. WMC was led by Gavriel Modderman with 15 points, Tyson Annema with 7 and Braeden Olson with 4. WMC goes on the road Friday night to take on Tri Unity Christian, the defending Division 4 State Champions. "We have a lot of respect for Fruitport and how their boys play the game of basketball, sometimes you learn more when you lose a game and I think that's true looking back on tonight's game. We had a lot of scoring opportunities, but the shots were just not falling, we will learn from this and get 1% better every day," WMC Coach Matt Haveman said.
