Spring Lake - WMC boys' basketball team took their show on the road Thursday night at Spring Lake winning the ball game 47-36. The Warriors jumped out to a 16-8 lead in the 1st quarter with some timely buckets from Tyson Annema and Brody Haveman scoring 8 and 4 points respectively. The two teams battled in the 2nd quarter with each team scoring 12 points in the 2nd quarter and WMC was up 28-21 at halftime. The second half was a back-and-forth defensive battle with both teams scoring 9 points in the 3rd quarter. WMC made their free throws down the stretch and earned a tough road victory on a snowy night in January. "We respect coach Core and the Spring Lake basketball program, they play hard and are an aggressive bunch, tonight we were clicking on both ends of the court, I couldn't be prouder of our kids." "Our last game was 13 days ago against Covenant Christian. With cancellations due to weather and limited practice times, the boys really responded and played 32 minutes of good basketball tonight." WMC was led by Tyson Annema with 18 points, Brody Haveman with 12, Braeden Olson and Gavriel Modderman both chipped in with 6 points. Spring Lake was led by John Westhoff with 10 and Jacob Ayers with 9 points on the night. WMC plays at North Muskegon this Saturday at 3:30
