WMC Girls Varsity Soccer Varsity vs Fremont High School The WMC Warriors delivered a commanding performance against the Fremont Packers, showcasing their strength on both ends of the field in a decisive win. From the opening whistle, the Warriors controlled the pace of play, with midfielders Lainey Postema, GillyAnne Beckley, and Allie Buchner setting the tone. The trio dictated possession, disrupted Fremont’s rhythm, and consistently created scoring opportunities. The offensive attack was relentless, as six different goals highlighted a balanced and explosive effort. Sophia DeJonge led the way with two goals, while Mia Oppenhuizen, GillyAnne Beckley, Eve Pollock, and Brynn Evans each added one to round out the scoring. Defensively, the Warriors were just as dominant. Goalkeeper Abigail Derdowski recorded the shutout, needing to make just one save on the night as WMC’s back line held the Packers to a single shot. Overall, the Warriors overwhelmed Fremont with a 27-1 advantage in shots. After the match, the Warriors’ coach praised the team’s performance. “It was nice to come out and play to our standards and tempo. The girls played some really good soccer in moments tonight,” the coach said. “We look forward to the rest that Spring Break will bring, and look forward to getting back into the swing of things.” With momentum on their side, the Warriors now head into Spring Break with confidence, eager to build on this dominant showing when they return to action.
