WMC Track and Field teams competed at the Kent City Elite Invite on Friday. 21 schools were represented at this meet which meant that there was good competition at every level. The Warriors were able to use that competition to propel themselves to greater heights, farther distances and faster times in many events. Highlighting the day for the Boys Team was Anderson Leffring's 2nd place and school record breaking performance in the Pole Vault with a height of 12'6". The previous record was 12'5" held by Ben Ritsema and set in 1993. Other notable performances and PRs (personal records): 4x800 relay team (Owen Sytsema, Josiah Scholma, Reuben Anderson and Micah Scholma) finished in 8th place, besting the previous season best time by 23 seconds. Carter Peggar (12.38) and Ezra Foreman (12.85) with PRs in the 100m Xavier Carney (27.26) PR in the 200m Reuben Anderson (2:03.50) and Micah Scholma (2:17.78) PR in the 800m Owen Sytsema (4:58.79) and Micah Scholma (5:20.66) PR in the 1600m Josiah Scholma (10:30.66) PR in the 3200m Freddie Neubert (33'5.25") PR in Shot Put The Girls Team was led by Bri Warner's 8th place finish in High Jump (4'8"). Also achieving PRs were: Eleanor Start (16.04) in the 100m Evelyn Folkema (1:08.95) in the 400m Addelyn Kingshott (24' 5.25") in the Shot Put
