WMC hosted the GMAA Track and Field meet on a cold and windy Friday, which included all of the teams from Muskegon County. The WMC Boys Team finished a very impressive 6th place out of 14 teams. As one of the smaller schools competing at this meet, a 6th place finish is a great accomplishment and a timely confidence boost as we enter into the final 2 weeks of our "regular" season. Scoring for the Warriors were: 2nd place: Josiah Scholma (3200m, 10:48.25) 3rd place: Anderson Leffring (Pole Vault, 12'6"), 4x400m Relay ( 3:43.86, Tyson Annema, Sam Hwang, Owen Sytsema, Reuben Anderson), 4x800m Relay (8:40.23, Owen Sytsema, Reuben Anderson, Josiah Scholma, Micah Scholma) 4th place: Tyson Annema (300m hurdles, 44.46), Josiah Scholma (1600m, 4:58.46) 5th place: Tyson Annema (110m hurdles, 17.11) 6th place: Reuben Anderson (800m, 2:07.41), Eli Morse (3200m, 10.58.09), 4x200m relay (1:40.90, Carter Peggar, Sam Hwang, Anderson Leffring, Tyson Annema) Also notable in conditions such as today's were PRs by Xavier Carney (Discus, 77'1"), Levi DeJonge (110m hurdles, 18.89) and Micah Scholma (400m, 59.09). On the girls side, points were difficult to come by with several performances falling just outside of scoring positions (top 6 places scored at this meet). Those included 7th place finishes by Bri Warners in both High Jump (4'8") and Pole Vault (7'0") as well as by Rochelle Liu in the 1600m run (6:41.43).
