WMC Boys Tennis had a very strong showing in the Fruitport Tournament on Friday, August 21st and took second place overall! The tournament featured wins at every flight for WMC including a first place finish and two 2nd place finishes in individual flights. At 1 Singles Luke Vander Wall had an easy win over Fruitport at 6-0 6-2. At 2 Singles Reed VanStratt beat Fruitport 6-3 6-1. At 3 Singles Cole Huizinga won 1st place with wins over Fruitport 6-0 6-1, Reeths Puffer by default and North Muskegon 6-2, 6-0 At 4 Singles Cash MacKellar took 2nd place in his flight with wins over North Muskegon and Fruitport. At 1 Doubles David Ritzema and Caleb Clausing took 2nd place with wins over Fruitport 6-0 6-0 and Reeths Puffer 6-0 6-4 At 2 Doubles Daniel Grill and Indiana Jones beat Reeths Puffer 6-0 6-2. At 3 Doubles Mason Tisdel and Alfredo Fajardo beat Reeths Puffer 6-2 6-1. At 4 Doubles Jansen Dubois and Leo VandenHeuvel lost a very tight match to Fruitport which included 3 tiebreaks! They also beat Fruitport.
