Western Michigan Christian continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season with an emphatic 9-1 victory over Covenant Christian, ending the match 10 minutes early by the mercy rule. The Warriors wasted little time taking control, building a 6-1 halftime advantage behind a balanced attack. Braedon Hoffman opened the scoring for WMC before Seth Moorhead doubled the advantage. Hudson Fair followed with back-to-back goals to make it 4-0, while Moorhead added his second of the match for a five-goal cushion. Covenant Christian broke through for its lone goal with 1:21 remaining in the opening half, but the Warriors answered exactly one minute later. Hoffman scored his second goal to restore WMC's five-goal advantage heading into halftime. Western Michigan Christian added three more goals after the break from Moorhead, Mason Bonnema and Hoffman, bringing the match to an early conclusion with 10 minutes remaining. Hoffman and Moorhead each finished with hat tricks for the Warriors, while Fair added a brace. WMC also received contributions throughout the lineup in the buildup. Fair recorded two assists, while Anderson Leffring, Tyson Annema, Ashton Koster, Bonnema, Carter MacKellar and Drew Sytsema each collected one assist. The victory improves Western Michigan Christian to 5-0-2 following a season-opening stretch of seven consecutive road matches. The Warriors will finally return home tonight when they welcome perennial Division 2 power Unity Christian to Warrior Field in Norton Shores for WMC's first home match of the 2026 season.
